Tonight on NSB Radio I’m going to dedicate my entire show to the musical artform known as the remix.
In this show I’ll take a fairly loose journey through the history of the remix, with its origins in Jamaican dub and version culture, through disco and electro in the 70s and 80s and into the more contemporary territory of today. So it should be a fun and varied show, featuring loads of classic tunes and favourites from the last 40 years or so.
Hubie Sounds 124 – Tuesday 28th March @ 9pm BST – live and direct on NSB Radio!
Don’t forget to join in the fun and games in the NSB Radio Chatroom.
For all of the details, including how to tune in to NSB Radio, check out the Radio Show page!
Hubie x
PS. For those of you tuning in from other time zones, the UK put its clocks forward one hour to British Summer Time a few days ago, so for some of you this show will air one hour earlier than usual!
In the first of two Breakspoll Specials, this Tuesday night we will be joined in the studio by one of the hottest talents in dance music… the one and only Peo de Pitte!
Yes that’s right, the man behind the excellent Crazy Love remix for the Drumattic Twins and numerous other booty shaking productions will be joining us in the Hubie Sounds studio this Tuesday night for two hours of bouncy beats and musical mayhem on NSB Radio.
Mikey Mic is the Stockholm sensation storming Hype Machine with his Rolling Stone-acclaimed remixes and no-nonsense attitude to big room electro remixes.
First it was his remake of Jay-Z (feat. Alicia Keys) – Empire State of Mind, which stormed the Hype Machine charts and gathered him blog love from across the world. Then he launched his brand new website – www.mikeymic.com with a great video explaining what he’s all about…
And now he’s taking on hiphop legend Pharoahe Monch with a Bloody Beetroots-esque rework which is sure to slay some dancefloors. Check them out here…
Pharoahe Monch – Simon Says (Mikey Mic Remix – Rock Edit)
Hey y’all. I’ve been a bit slack of late about blogging all the wicked promos that have been landing in my inbox. So to get back in the groove, here’s one that simply can’t be ignored! Read on for all the info…
Quick one for you here from LA beatmashers Breakdown – remixing Bouncecamp (the b-more Berliner) with a funky twist.
The LA producers have been making quite the name for themselves since their inception in late 2007. Their releases have turned in the boxes of DJs like Benny Benassi, Laidback Luke, Micky Slim, Z-Trip, DJ Dan, Will Bailey, Donald Glaude, AC Slater and The Freestylers.
They’ve also been busy collaborating with The Sounds, Deadmau5, Will Bailey, MC Flipside, South Rakkas Crew, Hot Pink Delorean, Killa Queenz, Whiskey Pete, Kelevra, Rico Tubbs, & Gigi Barrocco to name a few!
And that’s not all – they have a big summer coming up with releases on Universal/Motown, One Love (Sony) Australia, Marine Parade, PBR, Simma, Bombsquad and more.
Thanks for tuning in the other night, we hope you enjoyed the show. My apologies once again for not being able to broadcast the show live. Big ups to Kapiche for airing the show for me. Never fear, I will be back on the Brapwaves live and direct from Hubie Sounds Studios for the next show, on Saturday 13th June @ 8pm GMT! See you then!
