Hi everyone. I’m back from my little jaunt down under and tonight I will be presenting a brand spanking new edition of Hubie Sounds chock full of lovely musics.
This time I’ve got another cracking guest mix to present to you, from the very excellent Ali Mobius. Breaks heads will remember Mobius’ filthy breakbeat creations released on labels such as Dusted Breaks, Ape and Re:Connect, to name but a few. The lads are also no strangers to NSB Radio, having presented a regular show on the station for many years.
Nowadays Ali Mobius is flying solo and experimenting with a variety of new sounds from a more housey spectrum and tonight’s guest mix will showcase a lot of the new sounds that Ali is feeling at the moment. I’m sure you’re all gonna love it.
As well as tonight’s guest mix, I will be spinning my usual selection of funk, hip hop, breaks and house for your lovely ears.

Hi gang. Hubie Sounds is back on NSB Radio this Tuesday with the first Bass[sic] Session of 2013!
As many of you are no doubt already aware, I moonlight as the co-promoter and resident DJ of popular East London bass music night Bass[sic] and we’re throwing our biggest party yet this Easter weekend at the Bells Of Shoreditch, with special guest DJs Meat Katie and Peo de Pitte! So to get you in the mood for the party, I’m dedicating this week’s show to all things bass music! Hello peeps. Hubie Sounds hits the NSB Radio interwaves this Tuesday with Part 2 of my Roots Of Breakbeat special. Last time around I kicked off in the 70s with classic funk and soul from the likes of James Brown, Parliament and Curtis Mayfield, before moving into the early 80s with groundbreaking electro and hip hop by the likes of Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash and Run DMC.
This time around I’ll be concluding the special with old skool hip hop, early rave and big beat by the likes of De La Soul, Kurtis Mantronik, The Prodigy, The Freestylers and loads more! If you’re a fan of classic dance music you’re gonna love this!

Hi everyone. Hubie Sounds is back on the NSB Radio interwaves this Tuesday with another special show chock full of classic tunes.
This time around I’m going to delve into the roots of breakbeat and present a selection of tunes that have in one way or another influenced the genre over the last 40 years or so. This will by no means be a comprehensive or exhaustive selection of tunes – there’s just far too many to squeeze into a two hour show – but it should give a flavour of some of the great tunes that have influenced breaks over the years.
From classic soul and funk by the likes of James Brown and Parliament, ground breaking electro and hip hop by the likes of Afrika Bambaataa and De La Soul right through to early rave anthems by the likes of 2 Bad Mice and The Prodigy, there will be loads of massive tunes to keep your booties shaking this Tuesday night!
