Hubie Sounds Sithmas Special

Hubie Sounds Sithmas Special

Seasons greetings everyone. After a slighter-longer-than-expected break from the interweb airwaves (many apologies for that), Hubie Sounds is back on NSB Radio.

Tonight I’m celebrating an auspicious event that only comes around once in a while, and it’s not Christmas… yes that’s right, it’s Star Wars!

Those of you with eyes, ears and a pulse will probably be aware that the much beloved Sci-Fi franchise returned to our cinemas last week to a great fanfare, and as a fully signed up Star Wars geek (I have the embarrassingly large Droid collection to prove it) I’ve leapt at the opportunity to dedicate this show to my favourite movie franchise.

Once again I will be presenting a show crammed full of music that has links and themes to Star Wars – as usual, some of which might be a little tenuous – but all of it will be 100% quality tuna.

Oh and I lied about the Christmas bit earlier. I will be squeezing a little bit of festive cheer (cheese) in there too, albeit with a Star Warsy twist.

The Hubie Sounds Sithmas Special – Tuesday 22nd December@ 9pm GMT – live and direct on NSB Radio!

Make sure you come and say “I’ve got a baaad feeling about this” in the NSB Radio Chatroom.

Hubie Sounds 102 – Rugby World Cup Special

22 September, 2015

Hubie Sounds 102

Hi team. As some of you might know, I like a bit of rugby, so I’ve been quite excited by the Rugby World Cup kicking off last week here in England.

To celebrate, I’m dedicating this week’s show on NSB Radio to tunes and artists that have at least a vaguely tenuous link to World Cup rugby, including kiwi dub by Fat Freddys Drop, Gallic house by Daft Punk, Stateside hip hop by A Tribe Called Quest, British breaks by Elite Force, plus loads more.

Hubie Sounds 102 – Tuesday 22nd September @ 9pm BST – live and direct on NSB Radio!

Make sure you come and say ‘kia ora’ in the NSB Radio Chatroom!

A ‘Childish Things’ Podcast

A 'Childish Things' Podcast

Hi everyone. I’ve more or less managed to seperate my brain from the lumps of mud that I seem to have brought home from last weekend’s Secret Garden Party. It was an interesting festival, to say the least, but a fun one too, for the most part.

You may recall that I won the chance to play a set at the festival for Secret FM. I was asked to prepare an hour long set for the Saturday night, but due to some scheduling screw ups (the less said about that, the better, I think!) I was only able to play for half an hour. It was short but sweet, you might say.

Anyway, now that I’m home I’ve decided to hit the studio and record the hour-long set that I had originally prepared, so here it is! I have basically fleshed out my original podcast with an extra 30 minutes of tunes and silliness, following the same festival theme of ‘Childish Things’, with a selection of tunes that remind me of my childhood, as well as tunes that appeal to my inner child, including references to some of my favourite movies, TV shows and other fun stuff that I still love today. This is a podcast for all kids, big or small.

Secret FM Set Time Confirmed

Hi everyone. My set time on Secret FM at The Secret Garden Party has been confirmed as 9-10pm on Saturday (25th July) UK time.

If you’re going to be at the festival, why not pop down to the Secret FM studio for a boogie! You can’t miss it – it’s the big chrome Airstream next to the Cider Barn, in the field with the ferris wheel. Come down and say hi and I’ll give you a shout out.

For those of you who aren’t attending the festival, you’ll be able to tune in to Secret FM via The Secret Garden Party website.

Big ups everyone.
