Hubie Sounds

Hi, my name’s Hubie. I’m supposed to talk a little about myself, so here goes…

Having moved to London from New Zealand many years ago, I leapt headfirst into clubbing and DJing. I got the opportunity to play my first proper gig in 2007 for SupaTronix at the Medicine Bar in Shoreditch, warming up for The Freestylers… quite a step up from my first foray into DJing at a mate’s 21st back in NZ.

That SupaT gig was a great success and has lead to many more, playing in bars, clubs and boat parties all over the UK alongside and supporting disc jockey luminaries such as Stanton Warriors, Evil Nine, Elite Force, Daddy G (Massive Attack), Andy Smith (Portishead), Normski, The Reflex, Herve, Sub Focus, A-Skillz, Soul Of Man, General Midi, Cut La Roc and Ben & Lex to name a few.

I also host a regular radio show, the Hubie Sounds Lock-In, on Cutters Choice Radio. My show is broadcast fortnightly on Fridays (1st & 3rd of the month), 5-7pm UK time, playing to a wide audience from across the UK and around the world. I play all sorts of music, anything that tickles my fancy really, from house to techno, hip hop to breakbeat, soul to rock and roll, you name it I play it.
